Home of Nudenight life drawing, this entire building is an open invitation to sit and have ideas. We want you to draw and create. Be more of yourself with yourself (or even with friends).
We’ve only been at our new warehouse now for a few months, so it’s still a tad chaotic but that’s art for you. DOODLER promises to be more than SthSthKingSt ever was (as we sort out the legalities). Our art coffee library will be opening shortly, and we encourage you to sit and read through our extensive collection, or even just doodle away in the corner. Doodler is a store selling the staples of art; pencils, pads, live nude muses, strong coffee, and a dash of controversy & inspiration.
As our previous gallery did at SthSthKingSt we will have a strong focus on local art and operate as a community hub for experienced artists and beginners alike.
The Nuderoom is at the core of the building physically and emotionally. A structured artspace designed around the needs of drawing and painting live models. This is the home of Nudenight lifedrawing every Wed/Thur nights 7-9pm Saturday 1-4pm and Sunday afternoons 2-4pm. If you like to paint then our choose portrait classes with The Dog & Dutch or Poser. Both are 3hr single poses. Dog & Dutch is a fun curated introduction to painting Alla Prima. This is an instructional class perfect for beginner intermediate painters with a passion to explore and learn. Poser is a less structured 3hr art directed pose. What you paint is entirely up to you, perfect for intermediate-advanced painters who just want the time in front of the canvas with a live model. These painting classes are held on alternating Saturday afternoons 1-4pm.

Sydney’s Nudenight Life drawing & DOODLER is a niche arts hub that started in 2018 at SthSthKingSt on the fringe of Sydney Park, and has recently moved to Fitzroy St Marrickville. The modelling, space, & drawing are all inspired and art is taken very seriously. There are a lot of very valid drawing classes in Sydney which focus on structured technique, and righteous silent contemplation, we are not one of them. Also be sure that we are not one of those frivolous “put paint on a canvas, drink a wine, kick-em to the curb” kind of places.
We want to be impressed by you.
Beginner drawers are always welcome to any session, and we do have basic materials for you to play with. Any day of the week will find you surrounded by a friendly community of artists only too happy to discuss materials, techniques, and theories they have about Chemtrails. If you are lucky you may hook a moment with one of several artists who run formal workshops at SthSthKingSt. Our part-time lovers and trained artist teachers SiMo , Jon Potter, EV Shipard, Nat, and Alan Sommerville, are all a wealth of talent and knowledge. If you ask Stuntmullet you will get the best advice, but it may involve a blindfold and standing in the park with a stick and a tin of black paint.
During the week Admiral Wang will fix you up with steaming hot dumplings if you get a bit peckish.
On Thursdays the poses are a little longer and whilst Stuntmullet will happily tell you where you’ve gone wrong, you are pretty much flying on your own. Listen to post punk gems, Stuntmullets rollercoaster mood swings and cry in your pencils cases.
If you are scared of the dark, or just can’t make it on a school night, our Sunday afternoon Nudeday offers a slightly more relaxing chilled alternative, and is now run by Mark (a great option, if you can’t stand Stuntmullets soliloquies).
Nudenight life drawing is currently in a period of rapid change, and fans of the old building will be aware that we can’t help but constantly modify the space as we grow and adapt.
Booking is highly recommended, and helps us make sure you have enough food and butt spots.
Working in conjunction with Nudenight Lifedrawing is the DOODLER Gallery. A gallery aimed at giving local artists a realistic commercial outlet , and an exhibition space to encourage further artistic development. And it’s just a great place to pick up diverse, original, and affordable works of art.

Sydneys Nudenight Life drawing is an inspirational and enjoyable art space which gives you the opportunity to explore and push your creativity as a beginner or advanced artist.
Drawing, painting, and creating art alongside established successful artists, and casual pencil dippers who just love to draw. Passionate debate is encouraged between all, sometimes dancing happens, and despite all efforts Nudenight has grown to be as much about the people & community, as for the unique space itself. One hobo once said, “Best Life Drawing in Sydney”, another …”wow, drawing is fun. Can I have some more?”, and who can forget, “…yeah, that Wallace guy is dreamy…”.
So if you are new to life drawing and looking for a fun night out in the inner west, please don’t be scared it’s a lot easier than you think. And if you are an artist in need of inspirational muse, come on down to Fitzroy Street Marrickville. Life drawing classes every week and always with a range of exciting creative unexpected opportunities to help you grow as an artist and meet new people. Once a fortnight is a long 3hr portrait session, and keep an eye out for our; portraiture, drawing, landscape, or clay sculpture workshops, run in association with talented experienced local artists.… and yes Admiral Wangs House of Dumplings is open Wednesday & Thursday nights, and if you are looking to hold an exhibition or party, drop us a line.

For those patrons of SthSthKingSt…, we are back and in general, running our life drawing classes as per normal. We have a lot of plans unfolding in the new space and would love to show you around. For the newbies, forget SthSth… come on down and sample our all new Kool-Aid.
Your support in us moving was so moving that we actually moved. Thank you to the countless hands that physically helped, the supportive shoulders, and the deep pockets. It did take a lot more to float the gallery down the road than I’d hoped though so the best thing you can do is turn up to nudenight and have a draw. It will also be fun to watch it grow and evolve every week, but always. a great model, in a big timber floored gallery space, with a light and a few seats. I’ll still be here yelling at you all. Wang is back for all of your dumpling needs, and Thursdays will see the introduction of Wangcake. I like cake, people like cake, so why not have a cup of tea and a cake with your drawing.
